This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated and skilled Network Engineer with a passion for designing and maintaining complex network infrastructure to join a leading controls company. The successful candidate will become a vital member of a fast-growing team, providing network infrastructure for a wide varity of clients and industrial sectors.

THE ROLE

Key Purpose: Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of ICT solutions

As a Network Engineer, you will join a growing dynamic, creative and highly technical team. Working with some of the leading technologies to solve customer challenges, the right candidate will be technically astute, capable of analysing problems and will develop resilient and secure network solutions.

As a proven Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Networks
  • Servers and clients
  • Patch management
  • End point protection
  • Engineering software (MES, MIS. GUI and ERP)
  • Backup appliance and Disaster Recovery

The role will include:

  • Specify, Design, configure, and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Assess cybersecurity risks and implement network security measures to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Collaborate with other ICT team members to deliver resilient and ICT infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and procedures.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures and backup solutions.
  • Provide networking support to our engineering teams
  • Project Management
  • Service callout support provided on a rota basis

THE CANDIDATE

Essential Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' practical experience
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Experience with network security protocols
  • CISCO CCNA or equivalent
  • Hands-on network installation & commission experience
  • Enhanced DBS (arranged by FCS)
  • Full UK driving licence and willing to travel and work away from home when required
  • Must be eligible and authorised to work in the UK (with relevant visas in place where required)

Ideal Skills:

  • Risk-based Cyber Security knowledge ISO27001/IEC62443
  • SOC, SIEM, SNMP
  • Interest in IOT/OT/ICS
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools
