Joining a new company can often be a daunting experience, but for the employees at Amber Resourcing, it has been nothing short of a transformative journey. Explore the experiences of three employees, Phil, Alexandra, and Harry, as they share their perspectives on their time at Amber Resourcing so far. From personal growth to a supportive team environment, their stories highlight the company's commitment to employee development and overall success.

 

Phil's Experience: "I joined Amber at the start of the year, coming from a broad tech recruitment role where I gained exposure to various markets such as Product, UX, Dev, and Testing. However, I always had a specific interest in Product, so it was a no-brainer when I was offered the chance to set up the Product desk for the Manchester office. My brother is actually a Product Owner himself, and we commute to work together. So, I like to think I have a good understanding of what the day in the life of a Product Owner looks like and love hearing about the great things he’s worked on!

In my short time at Amber, I’ve had the pleasure of placing three high-performing individuals into Manchester-based companies. So, I suppose you could say I’ve gotten off to a good start! There’s a lot of work to do, and with the shift in the market from candidate-driven to candidate-rich, business development has become more important than ever. I’ve received some great training sessions on business development and how to build my network, which I’m implementing into my day-to-day plans.

I think I’m probably in the same boat as many recruiters who joined recruitment agencies at the backend of COVID when the market was more buoyant. So, it has been a real learning curve to see the market change. But it has definitely allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and become a better recruitment consultant (hopefully my colleagues think the same!).

I’m looking forward to continuing to build my network of Manchester-based clients and candidates in the Product space. So, if you’re reading this and in need of recruitment advice, please reach out!"

 

Alexandra's Experience: “I joined Amber with some experience under my belt but in a completely fresh market. From day one, management went out of their way to offer training on whatever was requested, which has made me grow from strength to strength in my first few months here. I wanted to join a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone brings something valuable to the overall team, and I’ve found that with Amber. The full Manchester team always goes out of their way to help someone. There are absolutely no 'Sunday scaries' when you know you have such a supportive team around you!

Obviously, recruitment can be tough, but the culture and team we have really get you through the hard times. Moreover, the perks and incentives absolutely make the stress worth it. From day one, you know exactly what you need to do for promotions, and targets are tailored each month. I never feel like I’m wandering in the dark here because it's all made so clear to you. I can't wait to see what the rest of year one brings me with Amber.”

 

Harry's Experience: “I was lucky enough to join Amber back in January, and I can happily say it was an excellent decision! I’ve been blown away by the level of expertise and dedication demonstrated by all members of the team here at Amber upon joining. I feel like I’ve continued to learn and develop my own ways of working day by day in a supportive yet ambitious environment.

There is a real sense that everyone is working collectively, and the people around you are invested in helping you better yourself. It can be a difficult job at times, but what makes it easier is looking forward to coming in and getting to work alongside the great mix of personalities within the business.”
